farmer’s market
so… i was googling for a farmer’s market in my area. i love the idea of getting local produce. healthier and less expensive. i was surprised and delighted to see they have one in my town. i’m hoping to check it out this weekend. while i was poking around something else came to mind. i would be pretty cool to sell stuff, like crafts. i’m a pretty crafty person it would give me something to do (take my mind off food). and maybe meet some new people. so does anyone have any experience in this? (personal or friends). wondering how to get started and what are popular items etc. thanks :))
Oh that sounds coooool!!! I think you would be great at that.
I am an artist…but I have never done crafts…taught it…but never sold it. When I am buying crafts, I like jewelry, beaded stuff…cool scarfs, or weavings.
Christmas time…I like ornaments…or things I can give as small gifts!
thanks. i was thinking jewlery, beadwork would be really fun. but i’m not quite sure where i would learn it. clothes would be cool too. and candles.
Yeah candles…I love candles!
That sounds like a great idea! I don’t know anyone whose done it- let me know how it works out for you!

I love farmers markets!!! Last fall I got and entire brown paper grocery bag FILLED with potatoes for $5. Lasted me almost all the way through winter. And they stayed good because they were so fresh. My craft of choice is making quilts. And actually, now that I think about it, I haven’t done it since January. That makes me sad. I love quilting and crafts. I guess I have been so caught up with weight loss and keeping my house in order, I lost the time and energy. Anyway, here is an AWSOME site for crafting ideas http://www.craftster.org/forum/ . This is where I go to get ideas on reconstructed clothes (taking something you have and dont like the shape/size/fit/ect. of and “fixing” it) and anything else that strikes my fancy. I could get on there and browse other peoples crafts for hours … in fact I have
Good luck in your search

thanks linz! i wish i knew how to quilt. i wonder where i could learn???
ahh i love the farmer’s market!
Leave it to Linz (aka Martha) to have a creative outlet like that! Unfortunately, I have no input for you there. But my mom paints old glass to make it look like stained glassed windows which I think is really cool. You can get the stencils and paint in any craft store and it’s easy to do, just make the outlines and then fill it in. Kinda like getting a tatoo only on glass, lol. Now get to walkin’ to that Farmer’s Market and while you’re there can you pick me up some watermelon? LOL
Good idea about the farmers market. Much healthier food without all those pesticides usually. Better for the kids. As for the crafts maybe you can sell them on Ebay I did that or even better a flea market you just have to rent a table usually and then people can see your work up close. Glass vases with flowers and other painted on pics look great, and so do clear glass ornaments with something painted on. Maybe babies 1st Christmas, 1st Birthday sentimental things you know. Well good luck that is great–oh ya candles always sell too. Maybe a soap and candle basket combo??
